Job description

Area Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Territory Sales Manager - Capital Machinery, Manufacturing. As our new Area Sales Manager for the North, you'll be home-based and working directly with the Managing Director to drive growth across the region. This brand-new role gives you the chance to make a real impact, selling high-value packaging solutions ranging from £35,000 right up to £1 million. With a strong product portfolio behind you, you'll bring your technical expertise to deliver technical solutions and capital equipment sales. Flexibility to travel and stay overnight when needed will keep you close to your customers and at the heart of the action.

Responsibilities

• Driving growth across your territory by strengthening existing relationships and winning new business.
• Balancing your time between account management (30%) and new business development (70%).
• Selling market-leading packaging machinery, with a strong focus on the food industry (70%) while also expanding into non-food sectors (30%).
• Representing the business at key trade shows and exhibitions, showcasing innovative solutions to new and existing clients.

What we're looking for

As our Area Sales Manager, you'll be passionate about driving new business while nurturing key accounts. While we'd love someone based in the North West, we're open to strong candidates from across the North — for us, the right person matters more than postcode.

• Proven experience in industrial, technical, or engineering field sales — ideally with exposure to the food processing industry.
• A driven, self-motivated, and organised approach, ready to take on a new challenge in a fast-growing business.
• Confidence with technical and engineering terminology, ideally backed by an engineering background or relevant qualifications.
• A proactive mindset, with the ability to manage your own workload and deliver against deadlines.
• A personable, enthusiastic, and team-oriented attitude, paired with a strong work ethic.

It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets: Area Sales Manager, Field Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager - Processing and Packaging Machinery, Capital Equipment, Machinery - Food Manufacturing, PPMA.
