Branch Sales Manager

Central Employment are pleased to be working with a successful metal distribution, family run business within Newcastle. Due to growth, they are now looking to recruit a Branch Sales Manger to join their team.

Branch Sales Manager profile: Sales and management of core product range, stock, HR, health and safety, quality, capital goods and property. All revenues and costs attributed to branch.

Key responsibilities:

Senior manager in charge of all operational activities, departments and personnel involved in Sales and Marketing, Administration and Distribution for the branch. Establishes performance goals for all sales department employees and operational staff and/or other managers' supervisors, and monitors performance on a continual basis. Responsible for managing and controlling the branch budget and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the branch in line with General Manager/MD's strategic objectives set. Manage and motivate staff, recruit staff, train and develop staff, according to company policies and employment laws, and ensure relevant HR procedures are followed (appraisals, discipline, grievance, etc) Seeks out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business for the branch as well as prospecting and growing an account list, handling incoming leads and closing sales. Negotiating and administration of purchasing contracts, stock and materials management and resulting warehousing, distribution and security of goods. Key Competencies and Characteristics required: A commercial sales background from within the Metals and Steel sector, specifically Stainless Steel. Self-Driven results orientated with a focus on margin growth and profitability.

People management skills coupled with a maturity and credibility that enables critical assessment of a team as well as their own performance Business Acumen, with an ability to understand a profit and loss account and basic business finances such as margin. Excellent face to face and telephone communicator able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts and large contracts or even a business, particularly achieving genuine sales development.
