Job Title: Business Development Manager – Waste Management & Sustainability
Location: East Midlands
Salary: Up to £45k DOE + uncapped commission + car + benefits
About the Role:
I am currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading sustainable waste management company. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, managing existing client relationships, and ensuring the seamless execution of service delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in sales or business development, particularly within the waste management, sustainability, or environmental services sectors.
As a Business Development Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop tailored solutions, ensuring the business remains at the forefront of waste management innovation. You will have a direct impact on the company’s growth and play a key role in its long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities:

Business Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within your assigned region to drive revenue growth.

Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both prospective and existing clients.

Market Expansion: Develop and execute strategies to reach target markets and create new opportunities.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure the delivery of seamless and effective service solutions from start to finish.

Account Management: Oversee key accounts, providing exceptional service and identifying opportunities for growth.

Strategy Development: Work with leadership to define and implement strategic plans for business development and market penetration.
Key Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the Waste Management sector - ideally Total Waste
*
Track Record: Proven success in driving business growth, with a strong history of securing new accounts and managing client relationships.
*
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
*
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to evaluate potential business solutions.
*
Industry Knowledge: Experience within waste management, sustainability, or environmental services is highly advantageous.
*
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
*
Self-Motivation: Comfortable working independently, demonstrating initiative, and driving projects forward with minimal supervision.

Organisational Skills: Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
*
Flexibility: Willingness to attend industry events outside of regular business hours when required.
