The main role of a Cruise Sales Consultant is to sell cruise holidays, including bespoke itineraries, to our customers to achieve and exceed sales targets while providing exceptional customer service.

Tasks

  1. Converting incoming calls, emails, and web chats into bookings to meet personal sales targets.
  2. Selling cruise holidays across all cruise lines, dynamically packaging and tailor-making holidays to fit customer requirements, including cruises, flights, hotel stays, and land tours.
  3. Upselling and booking ancillary products and services where appropriate.
  4. Providing excellent call quality compliant with current industry regulations, e.g., GDPR.
  5. Offering exceptional customer service by building rapport and using personal experience to stand out from competitors and encourage loyalty.
  6. Remaining aware of current offers, promotions, discounts, and marketing campaigns to maximize sales opportunities.
  7. Keeping up-to-date with product knowledge, including completing all cruise line online learning platforms, attending in-house training, and staying informed about industry trends.
  8. Maximizing skills on cruise line and in-house booking systems and suggesting improvements where needed.
  9. Following company processes to minimize errors and ensure all bookings are completed, including when elements are out of system range at the time of the original booking.
  10. Developing effective relationships with team members and departments to share ideas, maximize sales, and improve processes.

Requirements

  1. Previous experience selling cruises or bespoke long-haul itineraries is essential.
  2. Self-driven to work towards and exceed targets.
  3. Past telephone sales experience, preferably in travel retail or tour operating.
  4. Experience with dynamic packaging is preferred.
  5. Passionate and enthusiastic about selling cruises.
  6. Homeworking experience is preferred.
  7. Good cruise and travel product and system knowledge.
  8. Previous experience using Amadeus/GDS flight systems is preferred but not essential.
