- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the full range of our products and services and how they are deployed and delivered.
- lead, motivate and mentor the existing new business and customer success department to maximize their potential and achieve sales targets.
- Prepare and present budget spending and forecast on a monthly basis to the sales director.
- ensure the team own their assigned client base and direct new business campaigns.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, marketing trends and potential growth areas into the sales strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events.
- Develop and maintain a high-performance culture with continued improvement, innovation and growth mindset.
- Collaborate with senior leadership team to ensure alignment between sales strategies and overall business growth.
- Establish a clear set of KPIs and related reporting that enables you to understand team performance and report back to stakeholders of the business.
- Identify trends in sales successes and failures, recommending areas of improvement.
- Cultivate and expand relationships with key accounts to drive new and recurring revenue streams.
Objectives
- Deliver a cost-covering team within the financial year by generating one off GP and net new recurring margin.
- Identify and deploy new customer business campaigns activity with a goal of growing our local business presence within the Oxfordshire County.
- Decrease the percentage of annual churn of customer accounts.
- Ensure that cross-sale and upsale targets into the existing customers are being achieved.
- Help design and deliver the customer success journey for onboarding.
Qualifications and skills required
- Must have industry knowledge within the telecoms sector, covering VoIP, Broadband, Mobiles.
- Track record in team management and exceeding sales targets in a managed division.
- Strong sales track record with backing proof
- Clear communicator with ability to keep all stakeholders internally aware of what is happening within departments.
- Demonstrable experience of building out sales capability and driving sales best practice to deliver on business growth goals.
- An eye for detail and a creative approach to solving challenges faced by SME businesses.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-centric approach to deliver growth.
What does success in this role look like?
As Head of Direct Sales, you will be responsible for driving business growth by leading the new business and customer success department, expanding the company’s client base, supporting and closing high value deals, and creating a hire product uptake from the existing accounts, resulting in the overall reduction of churn within the existing customers. You will be focused on promoting our core products in local market sectors with an intention of building our companies image even more into a local supporting company for the Oxfordshire community.
