Location: Office-Based (with Occasional UK Travel)
About the client: They are a leading provider of innovative drying agents for the construction sector. Their products are revolutionising how industries such as Construction and Utilities work with advanced soil drying agents, offering cost-effective and sustainable solutions. They are expanding their reach across multiple utility sectors, including gas, electricity, water, telecoms, and more. With a growing team and a commitment to excellence, they aim to support projects across various utilities, focusing on both large-scale infrastructure projects and maintenance works.
The Role: They are seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead the sales strategy and commercial growth of their product range, with a primary focus within civil engineering and earthworks applications. Based primarily in the office, this role will concentrate on strengthening relationships with the existing customer base while actively generating new business opportunities and increasing the adoption of their product across the earthworks and groundworks sectors. The successful candidate will also oversee day-to-day internal sales operations and work closely with the Director of Strategic Growth (DOSG) to develop and implement targeted sales plans. Occasional external engagements, including client meetings, site visits, and product demonstrations, will form a key part of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
* Take full ownership of the national sales strategy, identifying opportunities across construction, Civils, Earthworks, Groundworks, highways, and infrastructure sectors.
* Collaborate with the Director of Strategic Growth (DOSG) to deliver a targeted sales plan focused on increasing the adoption and visibility of their product across key industry segments.
* Oversee the internal sales function, ensuring seamless coordination, CRM accuracy alongside operations assistant, lead management, and customer service excellence.
* Engage with key stakeholders including contractors, civil engineers, project managers, procurement teams, and compliance officers to promote the technical and commercial benefits of their product.
* Support tender submissions, product demonstrations, Sample requirements and client presentations (with support of DOSG if required) to secure specification and conversion opportunities.
* Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market feedback to adapt positioning and strengthen their market advantage.
* Attend trade events, exhibitions, and customer meetings on occasion to maintain a visible and knowledgeable presence in the market.
Key Requirements:
* Proven sales experience within construction, aggregate, or highways sectors, ideally with a background in selling materials, products, or technical solutions.
* Strong understanding of groundworks, reinstatement, and engineered fill construction processes, with experience compaction or drying products preferred.
* Commercially minded with the ability to articulate technical benefits and value propositions to a range of stakeholders.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills with experience managing internal sales functions.
* Self-driven and confident working in both office and external client-facing settings.
* Willingness to travel for key client meetings, demonstrations, or industry events.
