Role overview

We are hiring a Strategic Account Manager to join the Splunk team to manage Vodafone and Three accounts in the UK. This will be an individual contributor role working with the telco vertical to solve big, complex problems using Splunk’s big data analytics platform. This individual will be an open, passionate, innovative person that can lead and manage their team to maximise our customer’s success and data maturity.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently deliver against bold targets with dedication to meeting deadlines and delivering predictable revenue.
  • Manage your own business portfolio - shape the strategy for the sector, long-term account planning, drive complex account mapping, and diligently manage sales opportunities and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners for maximum efficiency and scale.
  • Leverage in-house sales engineering resources.
  • Blend the Splunk sales methodology with your own sales acumen.
  • Solve customer challenges and guide them on their data journey.
  • Engage as an empathetic corporate citizen, maintaining a two-way flow of relevant information.
  • Work within and support a high-performance team to deliver beyond expectations and optimize resource use.
  • Guide all activities within your account team and broader Splunk contributors.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable track record (minimum 3 years) in building, managing, and delivering successful sales results within Vodafone and/or Three.
  • Credibility in the telco sector with ability to apply the Splunk value stack to solve sector problems.
  • Extensive Strategic Account Management experience (minimum 3 years) and experience leading customers through complex challenges.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal presentation skills and experience with C-Level engagement.
  • Growth mindset and ability to learn and adapt.
  • Executive presence with comfort engaging with C-Suite (internally and externally).
  • Experience closing sophisticated, multi-million dollar software license deals through multithreaded networking and negotiation.
  • Understanding SaaS forecasting and ability to manage sales target risk, commit, close deals, and forecast accurately.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment with high expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, while collaborating with team members and colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel as required (weekly with customers, monthly with sales team, quarterly to industry events, annually to company forums).
