Job Title: Sales Account Manager – Battery Storage
Location: UK (Field-based / Hybrid / Regional Office)
Reports To: Head of Sales
Industry: Battery Energy Storage Systems / Renewable Energy
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Sales Account Manager to drive the growth of our battery storage solutions across the UK. The successful candidate will manage key customer accounts, develop new business opportunities, and provide technical-commercial guidance for both grid-scale and behind-the-meter battery storage projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in energy storage, renewables, or power systems sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Management & Business Development:
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts while identifying and securing new opportunities in the UK energy storage market.
- Develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders including developers, utilities, EPCs, consultants, and large C&I clients.
- Respond to customer enquiries with tailored battery storage solutions and proposals.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Deliver on sales targets and contribute to the company’s strategic growth objectives.
- Collaborate with the technical, engineering, and project delivery teams to create winning proposals.
- Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
- Stay up to date with UK policy, regulation, and market trends relevant to battery storage.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.
Reporting & Forecasting:
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline reports.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on market activity and customer feedback.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in a sales or account management role within battery storage, renewable energy essential.
- Strong understanding of energy storage technologies (e.g. lithium-ion, flow batteries), applications (e.g. peak shaving, grid balancing, backup power), and business models.
- Experience working with industrial, commercial, or utility clients.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
- Technical background in electrical engineering or energy systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with grid connection requirements, DNO processes, and battery sizing.
- Experience in selling to or partnering with energy aggregators, IPPs, or battery OEMs.
