The Role We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help us grow our presence, particularly focusing on members of the London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) and the higher education sector. This role is flexible depending on your level of experience—whether you're a seasoned AV sales professional or someone with strong telesales experience looking to step into a field-based role, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll develop new client relationships, expand on existing ones, and identify opportunities for AV products and services. Given that many of our clients are in London, we’re seeking someone based in the South East to manage client interactions and attend meetings. Key Responsibilities Proactively generate and qualify new leads through outbound calling, networking, and relationship-building. Maintain long-term client partnerships, ensuring satisfaction and retention. Put together tailored AV solutions that meet each client’s specific needs. Qualify leads and identify project opportunities, particularly in education but also across other channels. Represent Insight at industry events and conferences. Liaise with suppliers to produce competitive quotes. Prepare tender documents. Accurately forecast sales pipeline including sales revenue and expected gross profit. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery. Keep our CRM updated with sales activities and client information. About You Experience in sales or business development, ideally within the AV or technology sector. Confidence in outbound sales, telesales, or lead generation. If applying for a more senior role, you will have 5+ years of relevant industry experience and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets. Strong knowledge of AV and VC equipment, its functionality, and installation procedures is a plus. Ability to create clear, easy-to-understand technical quotes for clients. Ability to work independently. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Well-organised and self-motivated, with a knack for finding new opportunities. Familiarity with industry trends. Full UK Driving Licence.
