YASO is the operating system for global brands in China, built by a team of China experts, technologists, and startup operators. We are building a plug-and-play solution that manages the full ecommerce and social commerce stack - from store operations and pricing to influencer partnerships and logistics - all powered by our proprietary technology.
We give brands full visibility across every performance layer, including traffic, conversion, revenue, influencer ROI, content, and stock. For the first time, brands can monitor and manage their China business in real time, with data that is transparent, measurable, and actionable.
By replacing opaque legacy models with a unified, data-driven system, YASO enables international brands to take back control of their growth in China. Following our Series A fundraise, we are expanding our global team across London, Shanghai, and beyond to shape the future of cross-border retail.

Role Overview
We are looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join YASO’s growing Business Development team. You will be responsible for generating outbound leads, managing cold outreach campaigns, and qualifying new opportunities to feed into our pipeline. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is motivated, organised, and eager to grow into Business Development or Account Management.
Reporting to the Business Development Lead, you will work closely with senior team members to execute structured outreach programmes, refine our ideal customer profiles, and help build YASO’s partner network worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Lead Generation
- Execute multi-channel outreach campaigns (LinkedIn, email, and events) targeting specific brand segments and ICPs.
- Research and identify prospective brands that fit YASO’s target profiles using industry databases, trade news, and social listening tools.
- Tailor outreach cadences for each ICP group - from early-stage brands exploring China to established players already in-market.
- Personalise messages using insights such as campaign performance, category trends, and social media buzz.
- Use HubSpot to track all outreach activity, ensuring consistent follow-up and accurate reporting on progress.
Lead Qualification & Pipeline Management
- Serve as the first point of contact for potential brand partners, conducting qualification calls and assessing readiness for China market entry.
- Capture and update lead information in HubSpot, ensuring data quality and transparency across the BD team.
- Support the Business Development Lead in preparing background research and briefs for high-value prospect meetings.
- Monitor and analyse lead metrics (response rates, qualification ratios, meeting conversions) to continuously improve performance.
Partnerships Support
- Assist in building and managing YASO’s partner network, including industry “cheerleaders,” referrers, and collaborators.
- Help onboard and communicate with external partners - from consultants to agencies - providing them with updated materials and support.
- Maintain a partner database, track referrals, and assist in managing incentive processes.
- Contribute to the creation of co-branded materials, webinars, and partner updates.
Collaboration & Learning
- Work closely with the Growth Marketing team to align outbound messaging with YASO’s broader thought-leadership and PR efforts.
- Attend key industry events and expos to assist with on-site lead generation and relationship building.
- Bring fresh ideas and experimentation to the outbound process - especially in personalisation, data enrichment, and use of automation tools.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 1–3 years’ experience in sales development, lead generation, or client-facing roles (internships and graduate roles included).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with confidence in reaching out to international clients.
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple outreach cadences simultaneously.
- Positive, energetic, and resilient attitude - comfortable handling rejection and maintaining momentum.
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred) and proficiency in using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar platforms.
- Strong curiosity about China’s consumer market and global brand-building.
Preferred
- Previous experience in e-commerce, beauty, or retail sectors.
- Basic knowledge of marketing automation or AI tools used in prospecting and outreach.
- Additional language skills (Mandarin, French, German, etc.) a plus but not required.

Performance in this role will be judged primarily by both the quantity and quality of outbound leads generated, as well as overall contribution to pipeline growth and conversion.
