The Role
We are hiring ourfirst dedicated sales leader: aSales Director – UKto lead our client acquisition efforts. This is apart-time, high-autonomy rolesuited for a senior commercial professional who thrives in a hands-on environment.
You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing business with target companies — particularlysmall and medium enterprises, includingprivate equity-backed portfolio companies and businesses preparing for investment. These organisations often face capability gaps or short-term challenges that can be addressed by the experienced talent in our network.
This is an opportunity toshape and build a sales function from scratch, with the support of a purpose-driven and entrepreneurial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales strategy for the UK, focusing on SMEs and companies within or adjacent to the private equity ecosystem.
- Build a client pipeline from the ground up through direct outreach, networking, and referrals.
- Engage senior decision-makers and articulate the value of short-term, experienced talent to solve real business challenges.
- Work closely with the internal team to deliver the right talent matches and ensure client success.
- Provide insight and feedback to help shape our go-to-market model, messaging, and product offerings in the UK.
Who You Are
- Aself-starterwith a strong network in the UK’s SME and/or private equity community.
- Commercially sharp, persuasive, and able to open doors at the C-suite or founder level.
- Comfortable in astart-up environment— willing to roll up your sleeves, experiment, and drive progress with limited resources.
- Experienced in B2B sales — ideally in consulting, professional services, talent solutions, or HR tech.
- Genuinely aligned toWisdomCircle’s mission— to unlock the potential of experienced professionals and connect them with purposeful work.
Compensation Structure
- Fixed Retainer:A modest monthly fee for time and availability.
- Variable Compensation:A generous commission structure based on successful client engagements — rewarding results, not hours.
