The Sales Manager Role:
As Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and expanding customer accounts while executing strategic initiatives to grow market presence. You’ll represent the business to customers, attend industry events, and provide insight that helps shape product development and long-term direction.
This is a varied and influential role, blending customer-facing activity, sales strategy, marketing input, and divisional leadership.
Key Responsibilities of the Sales Manager:
Building strong, trust-based relationships with customers and prospects
Developing and executing structured call plans for existing accounts
Enhancing brand visibility across the sector
Following up on quotations with customer visits to strengthen understanding
Implementing monthly promotional and marketing activities
Identifying new business opportunities and reporting on competitor activity
Managing a clear business plan and sales pipeline
Maintaining accurate CRM records and delivering weekly reports
Representing the business at trade shows, exhibitions, and customer events (UK & overseas)
About You
You’ll be a confident, enthusiastic, and motivated sales professional with strong technical aptitude and a passion for the leisure marine environment.
We’re looking for:
Ideally 5+ years’ experience in technical sales, including export markets
A background or qualification in Engineering, Marine, or related technical fields (HNC/HND/Degree/NVQ or equivalent)
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to quickly establish trust
Sharp organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience using CRM systems plus good Excel and Word capability
Analytical mindset with confidence working with numbers
A professional, dependable, and goal-driven approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A valid driving licence and willingness to travel frequently (including overnight stays and overseas trips)
