OverviewMercer West Sussex, United Kingdom. We are seeking a talented individual to join our Corporate Sales Team at Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB). This role will be based in any of our offices in the UK. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office.ResponsibilitiesTo actively add value to the winning of new business to support MMB in achieving its new business target for Corporate segmentBuilding internal relationships across the group; embedding yourself in client facing teams to act as an ambassador of MMB and identify new cross sell opportunitiesMaintain a sales funnel based on meaningful opportunities with a target market of prospects, with the aim of winning new business from companies that have all the attributes of a profitable MMB clientOwnership of long term prospect relationships, understanding their industry, key client needs and business drivers to identify potential MMB solutions and differentiate our propositionOwnership of complex multi-service deals including RFPs, across a broad range of clients and industries, from large global multinationals to mid-market UK employersWe will count on you to:Identify opportunities across MMB health and benefits services e.g. DC Pension, Risk, Healthcare, Workplace Health and technologyWork collaboratively with other sales and consulting colleagues to ensure the client receives the best from MMBLead the bid team to convert new business opportunities into MMB revenueDrive development of any local/market sales and marketing plan in conjunction with the local market leader and be seen as the pivotal supporter of the local groupFor those target market organisations not segmented as prospect, ensure that comprehensive marketing activity is taking place in conjunction with the Business Development AnalystAdherence to the pitch protocols including taking the lead on preparation for all pitches and ensuring that the proposal has a compelling proposition, the right style and contentOwn personal sales target (financial and pipeline) for a portfolio of clientsWhat you need to have:Financial and Commercial acumen (including fee negotiation skills)Related business experienceAchievement orientedSales skillsAbility to question and probe very effectively around technical areasIndependent and self-motivatedThe ability to have conceptual discussions with client and prospectsAn enquiring mind and the ability to embrace the key themes impacting the industry and our clientsExceptional communication and influencing skills at c-suite levelWhat makes you stand out:Strong sales experience and commercial acumenGood emotional intelligence and the ability to build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholdersThe resilience and persistence required to perform in a highly competitive market environment and a successful sales teamWhy join our team:We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leadersWe foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communitiesOur scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-beingMercer Marsh Benefits helps clients manage the costs, risks and complexities of employee health and benefits, through the combined expertise of Mercer and Marsh, businesses of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC).
