We are recruiting a fixed‑term role, up to 2 years, for somebody with experience of working in or regulating energy sectors, including combustion plants, waste incineration and refineries. Responsibilities

Provide expert support and technical leadership through advice, guidance and training. Develop strategy and produce tools to regulate, support development and deliver environmental outcomes. Commission and manage external research projects where needed. Work with internal and external stakeholders such as Defra, DESNZ, internal operations teams, trade associations and other key industry players. Respond to incidents and make yourself available to provide business continuity support during an incident.

Qualifications

Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, actively encouraging others to consider diversity issues. Relevant technical and regulatory knowledge, and experience of regulating relevant processes, including control measures for emissions to air where relevant. Ability to build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, operators, partner regulators, government, trade bodies and academia. Work cooperatively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
