We are seeking a technically competent Sales Engineer / Area Sales Manager to join our expanding team, providing industrial control and automation products and solutions.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer with a proven track record as a business developer and salesperson in the Industrial Electrical Control and Automation sector. This is a field-based role, involving site visits and 1-2 days in the home or company office.

The Sales Engineer will sell high-quality industrial automation products such as PLCs, Control Gear, Drives, Sensors, HMI, and Process Instrumentation to customers including OEMs, End Users, System Integrators, and Panel Builders across Scotland. The preferred location is in the central belt M8 corridor between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

While induction and ongoing training will be provided, the ideal candidate will have sales and technical experience in the industrial automation industry, coupled with a successful sales record. A formal qualification in Electrical/Electronic discipline (ONC/HND or above) is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate your knowledge and sales ability. Additional career development training to enhance sales skills is a plus.

The role involves achieving sales targets, managing and developing existing accounts, and identifying new business opportunities. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with flexibility required for travel. Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, are essential.
