Job Title: Technical Sales Manager – Fine Chemicals/Custom Synthesis (UK & Ireland)
Location: Remote (UK-based)
We are partnering with a leading international chemical distribution company seeking a Technical Sales Manager to lead growth in the custom synthesis segment of their Fine Chemicals division. This senior role is focused on the pharmaceutical fine chemicals sector, driving both account management and new business development across the UK and Ireland, with occasional support to European markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and expand key accounts within the UK & Ireland, with a strong focus on custom synthesis for pharmaceutical and CDMO customers
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the custom synthesis and fine chemicals markets
- Lead complex, technical sales cycles and deliver consultative solutions to meet client needs
- Collaborate closely with global Fine Chemicals teams to support regions without dedicated sales coverage
- Line manage two direct reports (Customer Services & Sourcing, Inside Sales)
- Maintain accurate CRM records and conduct market research and competitor analysis
- Represent the company at UK and European industry exhibitions and events
- Support supplier cooperation and cross-selling initiatives within healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experienced technical sales professional with strong expertise in custom synthesis, pharmaceutical fine chemicals, or related sectors
- Commercially driven with a consultative, solution-focused approach to complex technical sales
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end sales cycles independently and work effectively within a global team
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing and developing team members
- Comfortable with regular travel within the UK, Ireland, and occasionally Europe
- Strong organizational skills with experience in CRM and sales pipeline management
