Area Sales Manager Tiles and Kitchen Worktops

Area to be covered: South East and Anglia. Based: near Greater London. Postcodes: SO, RG, PO, GU, RH, BN, TN, ME, CT, SS, CM, AL, HP, LU, SG, MK, NN, CB, CO, IP, PE, NR & Greater London.

Remuneration: £45,000-£55,000 + Up to £12,000 Bonus. Benefits: Fully Expensed Ford Ranger & Benefits.

Overview

The role involves selling a manufactured range of wall & floor ceramic tiles, and large format slabs for kitchen worktops, with a mix of field sales responsibilities and new business development within the Tile and Kitchen Worktops sector.

Responsibilities

• 40% of time managing and developing the established tile business in the South East, which includes approximately 30 tile distributors servicing customers direct from Spain (80% of turnover, approx. £750,000) and around 30-35 independent bathroom retailers (from UK subsidiary, approx. £350,000 turnover).
• 60% of time on new business development, growing 3-4 stonemasons/worktop fabricators to achieve targets of circa £250,000 in year one and £500,000 in year two.
• Conduct ~15 customer visits per week.
• Overnight stays when required; travel 3-4 times per year to Spain and Italy.
• Assist with merchandising, training, developing and nurturing bathroom retailers as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must have tile or kitchen worktops field sales experience.
• 2+ years field sales experience.
• Prior experience selling into tile distributors, merchants, retail showrooms, stonemasons or worktop fabricators.
• Hardworking, honest, willing to travel and stay overnight when required.
• Professional with strong organisation and territory management capability.
• Prepared to do high UK mileage and travel abroad when required.
