Job Description

We’re looking for a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to join our Group Sales & Marketing Function - the team responsible for accelerating growth across The Ingenuity Group. 

 

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of building agency relationships, converting them into top-of-funnel sales opportunities. You’ll fuel the pipeline for our retained services including Business Development, PR, the CMO Engagement Programme, and Agency Growth Club, while also helping to drive spot sales for our flagship MAD//Meets events. 

 

Reporting into the Group Managing Partner of Growth, you’ll work closely with a Senior Business Development Manager, a Business Development Executive, and the wider sales & marketing team.  

 

This is a high-visibility role with regular exposure to senior decision-makers at leading marketing agencies, giving you the opportunity to shape initiatives, influence business development strategy, and play a key part in our growth journey. 

 

From crafting proposals and organising new business meetings, to following up on pipeline opportunities and suggesting new agency targets, you’ll be an integral part of how we connect, engage and grow. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Identify and approach new agencies to promote our retained services (Business Development, PR, CMO Engagement Programme, Agency Growth Club). 

 

  • Generate and nurture a sales pipeline through outreach, marketing campaigns, and self-generated leads, moving prospects through the funnel and uncovering new opportunities. 

 

  • Organise and attend new business meetings, engaging with prospective clients to understand their challenges and ambitions, and supporting on strategic next steps. 

 

  • Support the team and lead in drafting tailored proposals, managing follow-ups, and gathering feedback to progress opportunities. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all leads, conversations, and activities in the CRM system (HubSpot).

  • Drive spot sales for our MAD//Meets events, ensuring the team hit their group sales target.  

 

KPIs for Success 


  • Contribute towards achieving the MRR commercial team target. 
  • Accurately log and track all activity in HubSpot. 
  • Deliver against a quarterly MAD//Meets spot sales commercial target. 

 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Proven track record in a sales or business development environment. 
  • Strong understanding of the sales and marketing industry and the agency landscape. 
  • Experience using HubSpot (or a similar CRM). 
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to work seamlessly across teams. 
  • High attention to detail, with strong organisational and communication skills. 
  • Confidence in engaging with senior agency stakeholders. 
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to anticipate and resolve challenges. 
  • A natural relationship-builder with a client-first approach.
