Business Development Lead


This is a fantastic opportunity to drive strategic partnerships and innovation impact across the academic and public sectors!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with academic teams to understand and support translational research.
  • Identify and develop new business prospects and external partnerships.
  • Maintain and grow existing business development relationships.
  • Support commercialisation and partnership negotiations.
  • Design and deliver training on business development and innovation for academic staff.
  • Represent the university at innovation and commercialisation events.
  • Promote the institution’s research and innovation profile externally.


Person Specification:

  • PhD in Health/Life Sciences or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong track record in business development and academic-industry collaboration.
  • Experience in public health/life sciences product development.
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate at senior levels.


Location: University-based, London

Contract Length: 3–6 Months

Rate: Equivalent to £50,000–£55,000 per annum (daily rate)
