Role Overview VoiceWorks is seeking a skilled Commercial Contracts Manager / QS - Construction. Specialist Composites. CSCS to lead high-impact projects, drive commercial profitability, and deliver GRP and FRP solutions across the UK. You will ensure construction projects run safely, on time, and on budget by securing new work through bids and tenders, reviewing contracts to clarify commitments, managing budgets, costs, and timelines, resolving changes or disputes, and upholding health and safety standards. You will act as the key link between clients, subcontractors, and our teams to ensure delivery in line with contract requirements. Role Details
Location: On-site Colchester, Essex (with travel to sites as required) Salary: Up to £65,000 DOE + Company Bonus Scheme Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm Business focus: Custom engineered GRP and FRP components, protective linings & coatings, enclosures & housings, and related furniture & planters Seniority level: Mid-Senior level

The Commercial Contracts Manager Opportunity We are looking for a driven and dynamic Commercial Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of our industry-leading products and services across the UK. You will steer contracts from pre-contract discussions through to final account sign-off and handover, shaping outcomes along the way. Day-to-day Responsibilities
Pre-Contract & Tendering: Lead preparation and submission of PQQs and tenders, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Commercial & Financial Management: Manage budgets, margins, pricing, valuations, variations, and final accounts; produce cash flow forecasts and commercial reports. Contract & Project Management: Oversee projects from contract award to final handover; translate client requirements into actionable plans; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to keep projects on track. Contractual Compliance & Claims: Ensure adherence to contract terms and commercial procedures; manage claims, variations, and dispute resolution when required. Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and CDM; oversee risk assessments and promote a strong safety culture. Team & Contractor Leadership: Lead and support site teams, subcontractors, and staff; oversee recruitment, inductions, and performance management. Client Relationship & Reporting: Act as the main client contact; provide updates and progress reports; build and maintain strong client relationships to secure repeat business.
Essential
Proven track record as a Contracts Manager or QS within construction or specialist installation In-depth knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts, CDM regulations, and Health & Safety standards Strong commercial expertise – tendering, pricing, cost control, payments, and reporting Hands-on experience leading PQQs and tender submissions Confident in setting and controlling budgets, margins, and project profitability Highly organized with exceptional planning, communication, and leadership skills CSCS card holder with SMSTS (or equivalent)
Desirable
Knowledge of GRP, composites, or specialist structural systems NEBOSH or IOSH qualified Experience with project management and H&S software tools
