Our hard body armor is trusted by law enforcement, federal agencies, and military professionals worldwide. We’re seeking a Commercial Sales Manager who is mission-driven, field-oriented, and ready to lead our North American market to optimize and increase the sales of Hesco Armor products.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for developing new markets, managing key customer relationships—including federal, state, and local law enforcement—and enhancing market presence by building strategic partnerships to boost the company’s position in the defense industry.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth of Hesco’s body armor products across the U.S. and Canada, focusing on federal and law enforcement customers.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
- Set ambitious yet achievable sales targets with the team and develop action plans to attain them.
- Be accountable for sales turnover and profitability in the North American region.
- Create and manage account and territory plans for quarterly, annual, and 5-year growth.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities with agencies, distributors, and integrators.
- Collaborate with leadership and operations on SIOP to ensure accurate demand forecasting and fulfillment.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, coach, and mentor sales representatives to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Provide guidance on sales techniques, product knowledge, and market positioning.
- Conduct performance evaluations, offer feedback, and implement training initiatives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for aligned account management.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues and developing solutions.
- Guide team members through complex procurement processes and federal contracting landscapes.
- Customer and Partner Engagement:
- Maintain relationships with key accounts and strategic partners to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
- Develop account plans for expanding existing business and acquiring new accounts.
- Represent Hesco at industry events, demonstrations, and field trials.
- Share customer feedback with R&D to support product development and marketing.
- Market Expansion and Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, including federal, military, government, and distributors.
- Build relationships with federal and municipal agencies, channel partners, and procurement influencers.
- Participate in industry events and trade shows to promote the company's solutions.
- Gather market intelligence on competitors’ pricing, products, and strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing on promotional materials and campaigns.
- Sales Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor sales metrics and market trends to evaluate strategy effectiveness.
- Generate reports on sales results, forecasts, and insights for management.
- Use data analysis to identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.
- Develop annual sales quotas and project expected sales volume and profit.
- Product and Market Knowledge:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of Hesco’s product portfolio.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Share insights internally to support product development and marketing.
- Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented.
- Proactive, ambitious, and responsible.
- Strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet sales targets and perform full-cycle sales.
- Self-disciplined, decisive, and able to work under deadlines.
- Willing to travel 40-50% nationwide.
- Strategic thinker with analytical skills in sales forecasting and performance analysis.
- Education and Industry Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Material Engineering, or related; military or law enforcement background is a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of sales experience in defense, law enforcement, tactical gear, or related fields.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procurement cycles, federal contracting, and ballistic plates.
- Familiarity with Hesco Armor products.
