Real Deals Media is looking for a bright and ambitious Data & Insights Analyst to join our team. This is a crucial role within a strategic function designed to transform our unique proprietary data into a powerful engine for market-leading content and commercial growth.

Working as a key member of the team, the successful candidate will be a financial analyst with a passion for content and data. You will focus on interrogating our database to uncover unique trends, helping to produce authoritative data-driven content, and supporting the team in identifying new commercial opportunities, as well as helping to build out the data itself.

Responsibilities include:

• Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Interrogate our proprietary database to identify trends, produce league tables, and contribute to predictive insights into the European mid-market private equity space.
• Content Creation & Editorial Collaboration: Support the creation of authoritative, data-driven articles by providing analysis, charts, and tables for our editorial team.
• Dataset Development & Strategy: Contribute to the build-out of our proprietary dataset by using your research skills to find supplementary data points and collaborating with our data collection team.

Skills, attributes and experience:

• Strong Financial Literacy: A strong and demonstrable understanding of private equity and M&A concepts is required (e.g., Enterprise Value, EBITDA multiples, etc).
• Proven Analytical Skills: Experience manipulating datasets to extract insights. Proficiency in Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables) is a baseline requirement.
• Investigative & Sourcing Skills: Demonstrable research skills, with an ability to find information and a curiosity to dig deeper into the data.
• Technical Aptitude: Experience with, or a strong willingness to learn, SQL and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) is highly desirable, , as is experience of using, or even building out AI and process automation tools to aid data collection and interrogation.
• Excellent Communication & Writing Skills: The ability to articulate findings clearly and contribute to building a narrative around the numbers.
• Commercial Acumen: A developing instinct for what our audience cares about and an interest in how data can create commercial value.
• Relevant Background: The ideal candidate will likely have 2+ years of experience in a relevant role at a financial data provider, a professional services firm, or within a financial research/media company.
