We’re looking for a dynamic Head of Rugby Sales to lead our commercial strategy and drive growth across a premium portfolio of events and venues.
Job Summary:
As the Head of Rugby Sales, you will take ownership of ENGAGE’s hospitality and event sales across the domestic and international rugby calendar, driving our Twickenham contract, which is the largest in our portfolio. You will lead a team of sales executives, drive revenue growth, and build strong relationships with corporate clients, partners and stakeholders in the rugby world. Your leadership will be key in cementing ENGAGE’s position as a market leader in rugby hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving our Twickenham contract
- Design and execute a comprehensive rugby sales strategy across international fixtures, domestic leagues, and major tournaments.
- Lead, motivate and manage a high-performing team of sales executives.
- Set clear sales targets and KPIs, providing regular coaching and performance reviews.
- Build long-term relationships with corporate clients, trade partners, and rugby stakeholders.
- Manage the full sales pipeline — from lead generation through to deal closure.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop bespoke promotional campaigns and materials.
- Stay informed on industry trends, key fixtures and competitor activity.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasting and reporting to senior management.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of sales leadership experience, ideally within events, hospitality, or sports.
- Proven track record in managing sales teams and achieving revenue targets.
- Experience working with agencies, brokers or within trade sales.
- Ideally some background in selling rugby or large-scale sporting events.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and client service orientation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
