Job Description

Head of Sales - Technical B2B

Office-Based (5 Days) | Sales Leadership | Product-Focused Growth

Do you thrive on leading from the front - being visible, hands-on, and right there in the action with your team? This is your opportunity to step in as Head of Sales for a respected global technology brand, running their UK sales function from Hemel Hempstead.

Our client designs and manufactures cutting-edge communication equipment used worldwide across industries like emergency services, defence, logistics, and energy. They’re looking for a commercially sharp Head of Sales to drive growth, inspire the team, and shape the next chapter of the UK business.

This isn’t a role for a remote manager or a boardroom-only strategist. You’ll be in the office every day, immersed in the business, working alongside your salespeople, and setting the pace for high performance. You’ll also bring that old school, proactive sales style, picking up the phone, building strong relationships with dealers and distributors, and closing business through persistence, rapport, and credibility.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading and developing the UK sales team: setting targets, coaching, and motivating daily
  • Rolling your sleeves up: driving your own sales activity alongside the team
  • Selling directly over the phone to international dealers and distributors in a traditional, proactive B2B style
  • Owning commercial strategy, pricing, and pipeline management with a global dealer/distributor network
  • Being highly visible in the business: shaping culture, influencing performance, and leading by example
  • Reporting directly into senior leadership and contributing to global strategy

Who you are

  • A proven sales leader with experience managing and growing a team
  • Strong B2B product sales background (ideally technical equipment, hardware, or communications)
  • Comfortable with phone-based, dealer/distributor sales: old school calling, relationship-building, and deal-making
  • Hands-on and commercially astute: you sell, you coach, you deliver results
  • Based within a commutable distance of Hemel Hempstead: full-time office presence is essential
