You will be responsible for leading the Pre-Sales technical activities in our pursuit of new business and growth. You must be prepared to travel to London 2-3 times a month, occasionally including an overnight stay.Core duties include leading and coordinating technical responses in bids, engaging with clients, and ensuring market-beating solutions through design leadership, risk analysis, and alignment with business objectives.Duties & ResponsibilitiesWinning Proposals. Create compelling technical responses to customer requirements for frameworks including DOS4, DOS5, GCloud and Technology Services, either directly or via partners or primes. Proactively seek customer feedback to improve technical responses.Client Engagement. Act as an ambassador for the business in client engagements with strong ability to articulate business benefits and ROI of customer-facing solutions.Solution Leadership. Design, plan and price market-beating solutions; provide leadership across the solution development lifecycle in bids and campaigns; balance economic, commercial and technological factors.Competitive Insight. Maintain market awareness to ensure competitive estimates; challenge estimates that do not meet market practices.Thought Leadership. Participate in industry groups and forums to enhance Aker's profile and produce thought leadership content.Requirements & Needs Analysis. Maintain understanding of client needs and competitive activity to guide product evolution with the CTO.Risk Analysis. Identify risks and propose proportional mitigations, delivering low-risk contracting approaches.Technical Awareness. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies to identify business improvements and competitive advantages.Partnering for Solution Coherence. Represent the business with external partners and identify strategic alliances to support growth.Core CompetenciesTechnical CompetenciesDelivery. Hands-on public cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) and DevOps-centric practices.Security. Experience with sensitive data environments; SC clearance or commitment to achieving it.Sector. Serve as a go-to technical contact for sales and clients; liaise with product development as needed.Aker Sales Teams. Understand Aker USPs, tech stack, and hyperscaler environments to support pre-sales conversations.Design Winning Solutions. Lead solution teams to outperform competitors; target 1 win for every 3 bids.Solution Design Documentation. Own and deliver all solution design docs and bid responses; aim for technical scores > 90%.Solution Design Analysis. Assess risks, dependencies, and alignment between compliance and affordability.Business Cases for Change. Produce compelling business cases and explain non-standard design rationales, including costs and benefits.Identification of Partnering Approaches.
