Learning Manager (Sales Effectiveness)
Location: UK (London, Corby or Manchester), France (Beauvais), Germany (Frankfurt) or Italy (Milan) - with occasional European travel.

This role sits within the EMEA Commercial function to support the delivery of an optimum, consistent sales and service strategy that enables RS to continuously drive growth and profitability.
Our team promotes and designs engaging and effective learning content in support of the EMEA region, so travel to our key markets in Europe will be required.
Working closely with subject matter experts and Group L&D, we establish learning aims and requirements, and identify learning objectives to create an engaging learning experience.
What you'll be doing:
Training Needs Analysis:-
- Working closely with the business to understand business capability needs in the present and future. Work closely with People Business Partners, and other PE colleagues to understand design requirements, ensuring these are fully scoped, understood and delivered.
- Collaborate with business leaders to translate RS Strategy into local skill, capabilities and behaviours required using the outputs to assess needs and formulate a business case / request for additional resources / intervention to support a validated, identified gap.
- Working with market People teams to understand skills available in local markets whilst identifying gaps and opportunities
- Translating needs into potential learning specifications liaising with third parties as and when required.
Content Design:-
- Curating ready made, online content to identify the most relevant content that meets business needs/priorities, keeping learners in mind at all time - so that they are able to find smaller amounts of great, relevant content rather than many pieces of content that are less relevant
- Designing and delivering training content and wider learning interventions that are blended . thinking creatively about how to scale solutions globally whilst operating under a tight budget
- Identify opportunities to move learning content / interventions online, working with the Digital Learning Manager to identify opportunities to expand our L&D platform's (MyAcademy) offerings.
- Lead on the identification and design of innovative and compliant online content to train and develop employees in line with current and future business strategy needs, working alongside other colleagues and third-party suppliers
- Identifying and managing vendors who develop and deliver online and face to face content
- Produce regular analytics to measure the use and effectiveness of our online learning offering, including quarterly usage audits, and other reporting as required – analysing and identifying trends / needs. Use this to inform the future strategic direction of MyAcademy (Our L&D platform)
- Undertake regular reviews of the quality of learning content and events on the learning platform. Ensure the design of any learning intervention or initiative is compliant, innovative, interactive and speaks adequately to all learning styles and is keeping pace
- with learning trends and best practice.
Learning Campaigns:-
- Influencing business leaders to adopt EMEA Sales and Service capability framework
- Accountable for ensuring that the capability framework is translated into a curriculum of learning that is relevant, meaningful and engaging to its audience and to keep it alive and fresh on an ongoing basis
- Create and deliver EMEA multi-media learning campaigns that support our strategic imperatives on functional capabilities, leadership, talent, and diversity and inclusion
- Act as super-user across our learning ecosystem, creating fresh content, managing / updating learning collections and engaging with learners to drive up adoption and collaboration
- Manage our EMEA learning communities; updating and welcoming starters, ensuring access to all channels, and removing leavers
What we are looking from you:
- Expertise in learning & development for a wide range of learner audiences from shop floor to senior managers and creating learning interventions in all formats: face to face, digital, on-line facilitation, written, verbal, on own and collaboratively with others
- Knowledge and experience of Thought leading practice in L&D so for example, has knowledge of a range of tools and models to apply in different circumstances according to audience need
- Knowledge and experience of creating and curating content for LXPs and LMSs
- Experience and skills in instructional design
- Understanding of design thinking and human centred design desirable.
- Experience in delivering learning programmes and creating content for sales and customer service teams is essential
- A generator of new ideas and better ways of doing things to optimise organisation performance
- Creative thinking to be able to find innovative and engaging learning solutions
- Commercially astute with the desire to see commercial change, and to link the learning agenda to business goals.
- Global mindset and ability to design solutions for a global organisation is essential.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, in a global matrix environment
