A global provider of intelligent smart ID solutions is looking for a pre-sales support engineer to join their team and be based in and around the Birmingham area.

On offer is a basic of C40k, negotiable for the right candidate


The role will include travel to partner sites as well as client meetings to discuss the integrated proposal. The desired person MUST have a background in Physical Security.


A Pre-Sales Support Engineer provides technical expertise to the sales team, external partners and potential customers during the sales process. They bridge the gap between technical capabilities and customer needs, helping to qualify leads, demonstrate solutions, and address technical inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Expertise: Providing in-depth knowledge of products or services, understanding customer requirements, and tailoring solutions to meet those needs.

• Sales Support: Assisting the sales team or external partners with technical presentations, product demonstrations, and responses to technical questions.

• Solution Design: Working with customers to design solutions that address their specific needs and demonstrate the value of the proposed solution.

• Proof of Concept (POC): Conducting demonstration and other technical validations to prove the feasibility and usability of the solution.

• Installation, Testing and Support: Manage, deliver, implement and provide support and maintenance services to customers on software and related hardware equipment.

• Relationship Building: Developing strong relationships with external partners, customers and acting as a trusted technical advisor.

• Technical Documentation: Creating and delivering technical documentation, presentations, and proposals.

• Collaboration: Working closely with sales, product, and other teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.


Skills Required:

• Candidate to possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Engineering or equivalent in ICT.

• Strong technical knowledge of the relevant products or services being offered by the company which includes Visitor Management System, Facilities Booking System, Time Attendance Management System, Incident Management, Guard Tour System etc.

• Familiar with physical security industry in relation to Access Control System, Digital Door Locks, Alarm and CCTV systems is HIGHLY desirable

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Must have their own transport.
