Food is Ready – the UK’s first hyperlocal online catering marketplace connecting certified cooks from diverse cultural backgrounds with companies looking for inclusive and exciting food experiences for their events. Whether it’s a buffet lunch, a networking session, or a team celebration, we deliver authentic cuisine prepared by talented local chefs. Many of our cooks are refugees, immigrants, stay-at-home parents, or retirees who use our platform to share their food, culture, and stories — while earning meaningful income.
We’re on a mission to make catering delicious, impactful, and culturally rich – and now we’re expanding to Manchester!
About the Role
We’re looking for a City Representative to help us launch and grow Hey! Food is Ready in Manchester. You’ll be our on-the-ground lead, building strong relationships with chefs and corporate clients, and ensuring smooth, successful events.
This is a part-time, project-based role with flexible working hours — perfect for someone who’s passionate about food, community, and entrepreneurship.
Key Responsibilities
Chef Onboarding
- Identify and recruit passionate home cooks and chefs from diverse cultural backgrounds across Manchester
- Guide them through our onboarding process and help them set up on the platform
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, event venues, community organisations, and co-working spaces
- Represent our mission and services in a professional and engaging way
Event Coordination & Site Visits
- Travel to event sites when needed to support chefs, oversee setup, and ensure smooth delivery of service
Local Market Insights
- Share feedback on trends, opportunities, and challenges to help shape our growth strategy in Manchester
What We’re Looking For
- Strong people and communication skills
- Passion for food, culture, and community empowerment
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time
- Based in or near Manchester, with flexibility to travel locally
- Experience in food, hospitality, events, or community engagement is a plus
- Multilingual skills are welcome but not required
