Job Title – Sales Manager (With the view to step up to GM)

Location: Gloucestershire (Hybrid Travel Required)

Salary: £65,000–£70,000


Overview

An established manufacturer of thermal equipment is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead its commercial function. This is a pivotal role within a globally respected engineering firm supplying high-specification systems for advanced materials testing and processing.


The company has built a reputation for engineering excellence, serving both R&D and production environments across international markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping business strategy, driving revenue growth, and strengthening customer relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the sales function, from strategic planning to tactical execution.
  • Guide customers toward technically appropriate solutions tailored to their application needs.
  • Prepare, present, and negotiate proposals to secure commercially viable agreements.
  • Coordinate the internal and external processes related to project sales through to completion.
  • Engage with clients both in the UK and internationally as required.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the ongoing development of market-relevant products.
  • Provide senior-level coverage during periods of absence in the leadership team.


Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record in a technical sales leadership role, ideally within engineered products or systems.
  • Good understanding of operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a consultative and professional approach.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to manage complex, high-value sales cycles.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated and team oriented.
  • Prior experience in sectors such as Kilns, HVAC’s, furnaces.
