THE RUNDOWN

A major professional sports league in the UK is seeking a Team Leader to head up a two-person ticket sales and service team for its annual iconic Championship event.


This position is 80% focused on personal sales and 20% on developing and managing an Account Executive as the second member of this team.


The Team Leader will head outbound ticket sales for the annual Championship event of premium seating and hospitality/ food and beverage package products and group ticket sales to businesses, community organizations, families and youth attendee groups. (Numerous group leader and attendee match experiences and benefits are included to incent sales.)


The league backs these sales efforts with cutting-edge multi- media digital, social and electronic marketing, promotions and public relations campaigns to produce ample warm leads.


The ideal Team Leader will have at least two seasons of successful proactive ticket sales experience and be an excellent communicator demonstrating an aptitude and interest in training and developing talent.


This full-time position is based in Manchester and is directed and supported by world-class training and development from sport and entertainment industry leaders. Consequently, it provides an excellent career-path opportunity for the right person into the Sport Business Executive Suite.


WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Manage ticket sales and service team to achieve or exceed revenue and attendance goals each season, as outlined above.
  • Personally, be responsible for selling and servicing any unsold premium seating and hospitality inventory (suite and club seats), with a goal of generating a minimum of £25,000 in income per the 2026 annual event.
  • Personally, be responsible for selling and servicing group ticket packages to businesses, community groups, families and youth organizations, with a target goal of generating £100,000 in income per the 2026 annual event.
  • 80% of Team Leader’s time will be focused on personal sales revenue generation in Categories 1 and 2 outlined as above
  • Train, develop and manage one Account Executive to achieve their personal goal of a minimum of £75,000 in ticket revenue per the 2026 annual event.
  • 20% of Team Leader’s time will be focused on Account Executive management and development efforts, and their achieving success
  • Manage fan and prospect database in conjunction with digital marketing/ data base team, to facilitate maximum sales.
  • Monitor multi-media campaign analytics and offer strategic recommendations as necessary, to maximize lead qualification and sales conversion.
  • Manage in bound, 800-phone service line and ensure expeditious follow-up.
  • Monitor and produce weekly performance analytic reports (PAR) and distribute in a timely fashion to superiors, including all sales productivity statistics, sales staff activity and sales/ revenue reports. Recommend and make necessary tweaks and changes as needed.
  • Onsite event attendance to service ticket purchases as needed, especially to ensure delivery and execution of group leader and attendee group benefits and experiences.
  • Post event, produce annual event review and make recommendations for improvement/ modifications, as necessary.
  • Other related duties as assigned


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Minimum two seasons of successful ticket sales and service experience in the sport and entertainment industry.
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in relevant field preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including teaching, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Proficient in ticket sales software processing
  • Mastery of Excel spreadsheets, business intelligence software, Linked-In; and other ticket related sales and service technologies/ product proficiency is a plus.


COMPENSATION

Competitive base salary offered, with commission and earned bonus available.
