Owen James Events is a UK-based company that specializes in creating high-level, invitation-only business events, primarily for the financial services industry. Our goal is to bring together senior decision-makers and solution providers in a structured, professional environment to foster strategic conversations, build meaningful relationships, and drive business growth. We arepart of Fintel Plc – a leading provider of insight, support, and technology for the retail financial services sector.
About the Role
As a Trainee Sales Executive, you’ll play a key role in helping Owen James Events grow its client base and strengthen existing relationships. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, attend client meetings, and gain hands-on experience with CRM tools, sales strategy, and customer engagement.
️ What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintaining accurate CRM data, recording client interactions, and helping with proposals
- Participating in internal sales and marketing meetings
- Supporting sales managers during external client meetings
- Reaching out to potential new clients and building professional relationships
- Responding to inbound sales enquiries via phone and email
- Managing leads and tracking progress toward sales goals
- Taking qualification calls and arranging follow-up meetings
- Making outbound calls to new and existing contacts in the financial services sector
- Helping sales and business development managers with appointment setting and admin
- Contributing ideas to improve how we work and support clients

Experience & Qualifications
- No prior sales experience is required – we welcome applicants from all backgrounds
- Experience in a customer-facing role (e.g. retail, hospitality, customer service) is an advantage
- An understanding of or interest in financial services is a bonus
- Minimum GCSE Maths & English (Grade 5 / C or above); a degree is beneficial but not essential

Good to know
Hybrid working policy: 3 days a week in the office to work with colleagues and collaborate. Offices located in Fleet Street, London and Godalming, Surrey.
