Location: Cambridge Hybrid (3 days per week)

This pivotal role places you at the heart of our commercial operations, driving growth and delivering measurable impact through cutting-edge machine learning solutions across global industries.


Role Overview

As Commercial Director, you will take full ownership of our commercial strategy, leading initiatives that enhance revenue, expand market presence, and strengthen profitability. You’ll oversee sales and business development, cultivate strategic partnerships, and ensure our commercial function operates with precision and purpose in line with Intellegens’ ambitious growth trajectory.

This role suits a hands-on strategist with strong commercial acumen and the ability to inspire teams, translate vision into execution, and deliver results.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Direction: Shape and execute a commercial strategy that supports company objectives and drives consistent growth.
  • Revenue Generation: Build and expand high-value client relationships within B2B SaaS, Enterprise Sales, and R&D sectors.
  • Market Insight: Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform go-to-market planning.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and develop the UK sales team to meet and exceed revenue and pipeline goals.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and maintain relationships with technology partners, industry bodies, and key stakeholders.
  • Commercial Oversight: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking; ensure legal and contractual compliance.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, reinforcing Intellegens’ reputation as a preferred partner.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in senior commercial roles within a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Background in R&D-led sectors such as materials, chemicals, or formulations.
  • Enterprise Sales background
  • Proven ability to design and deliver impactful commercial strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills at senior client and partner level.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with a track record of team development.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial, contractual, and regulatory frameworks.


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with machine learning or data-centric technology products.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in business, commercial management, or a related field.
