Job SummaryAs an Associate Director in Securities FX Sales at Standard Chartered, based in London, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our Custody FX, third-party FX and passive currency overlay services across key emerging markets including Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. This position demands a strategic and proactive sales approach focused on navigating restricted currencies and complex FX environments to meet the diverse needs of financial institutional clients. You will serve as a bridge between clients and internal teams to craft tailored FX solutions, leveraging deep market insights and a client‑centric mindset to drive business growth.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive business growth: Actively promote and sell Custody FX, third‑party FX strategies, and passive currency overlay services targeting financial institutions such as banks, trading desks, global custodians, broker‑dealers, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and private equity firms.Market expertise: Provide cutting‑edge insights and advisory on FX markets with emphasis on restricted currencies prevalent in Asia, Middle East, and Africa, enabling clients to make well‑informed currency management decisions.Client relationship management: Develop and nurture deep and lasting relationships with clients through consistent engagement, understanding their evolving needs, and delivering customized solutions aligned with their investment goals.Strategic sales planning: Formulate and implement sales plans with clear objectives, timelines, and measurable targets to expand market share and exceed performance benchmarks.Collaborative teamwork: Coordinate effectively with internal departments, including sales, trading, research, operations, and the Strategic Solution team to deliver integrated FX service offerings and promote the digitization platform.Regulatory compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory frameworks and internal controls throughout the sales process, maintaining the highest standards of governance.Market intelligence: Conduct ongoing analysis of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform strategy and maintain a competitive edge.Business development: Identify new opportunities and potential clients to broaden the customer base and drive incremental revenue streams.Reporting and presentations: Prepare comprehensive sales reports, compelling pitches, and insightful market commentary for both clients and senior leadership reviews.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.Background in FX sales, with a focus on custody FX, third‑party FX sales, and passive currency overlay.Experience collaborating with a diverse range of entities, including asset managers, sovereign wealth funds (SWFs), pension funds, banks, trading desks, and broker‑dealers.In‑depth knowledge of FX markets, particularly restricted currencies in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with FX trading platforms.Experience with electronic trading platforms and FX risk management tools.Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to FX trading and sales.An advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, MBA) is a plus.About Standard CharteredWe're an international bank, nimble enough to act, big enough for impact.
