Associate Director, Transaction Banking Sales Job title: Associate Director, Transaction Banking Sales Locations: London / Birmingham / Edinburgh / Manchester / Leeds / Bristol Hours: Full Time Working Pattern: hybrid, with at least three days per week or 60% of time in office. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key player in growing and deepening our Transaction Banking relationships with large corporate clients. You will work with clients across the Consumer and Retail sectors and join a high performing team with strong growth ambitions. You will partner with various teams across the Corporate & Institutional Banking division to deliver for our clients and the Bank. As an Associate Director within the team, you will be at the forefront of growing client relationships, with a specific focus on delivering our Transaction Banking growth strategy into 2025 and beyond. This includes supporting clients with their Cash Management and Payments, TFX, Liabilities, Trade Finance, Card Acquiring and Card Issuance needs. You will be responsible for actively managing and pursuing transaction banking revenue through new‑to‑bank relationships and by deepening existing client relationships using a consultative, client‑led approach to help clients solve their challenges and achieve their priorities, drawing on the latest in innovation and the significant investments Lloyds Banking Group has made in its transaction banking suite. This role requires you to bring product knowledge, market awareness, and relationship management experience to deliver the best possible solutions to our clients. A day in the role:
Originate new business through proactive outreach as well as introductions from new client on‑boards / funding. Lead established Transaction Banking relationships with clients to increase wallet share and mitigate attrition risk. Contribute to the delivery of NII and OOI targets for your client portfolio, actively providing inputs on meetings, deals and other activity for senior management reporting and team updates. Drive cross‑sell opportunities by introducing other product partners into the conversation with clients. Lead pricing discussions and align with internal teams and clients on transaction banking products. Own and lead client opportunities, working with the Bidding team to respond to client RFI/RFPs. Ensure CM&P and TFX opportunities contributing to loan and trade deal returns stay on track, calling attention to situations where the probability of these opportunities decreases due to lost RFPs or competitive awards. Drive execution of the sales strategy for your client portfolio and support the Director of the Consumer sector to drive the wider sector strategy, including liquidity conversations, TFX, new operational banking mandates, new revenue / leakage prevention programmes and other initiatives. Mentor and develop associates within the Transaction Banking team. Capture client testimonials and stories for reusable case studies to socialize success internally and, with client permission, for client use. Provide feedback on competitor approaches and capabilities to product teams, enabling LBG to consider gaps in proposition with potential to unlock growth.
What You'll Need
Solid understanding of cash management and payments solutions. Extensive experience building relationships with large corporate clients and a proven ability to identify and deliver new business opportunities in corporate banking. Strong product knowledge across the broad suite of Transaction Banking solutions. Commercial acuity and demonstrable experience of adopting a consultative, client‑led approach. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills. Strong sales execution, including consistent client engagement, CRM updates, and proactive pipeline and activity reporting. Market awareness and a passion for delivering innovative client solutions.
