About the role:
We are seeking a highly technical and dynamic AI Sales Specialist/Engineer to be the crucial bridge between our advanced technology and our customers' strategic goals. You will be more than just a salesperson; you will be a trusted advisor, a technical expert, and a solution architect. Your mission is to deeply understand client pain points, design and demonstrate compelling AI-powered solutions, and prove tangible business value, ultimately driving the adoption of our platform.
Key responsibilities:
Technical Solutioning & Discovery (40%)
- Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions with Executives, IT leaders, and business unit heads to understand their unique challenges, data landscape, and strategic objectives.
- Architect and propose tailored AI solutions that clearly map our technology to the client's specific use cases and desired business outcomes (e.g., increased revenue, reduced costs, improved customer experience).
- Develop and deliver compelling proof-of-concepts (POCs), custom demos, and technical presentations that showcase the capabilities and ROI of our AI solutions.
Sales Execution & Partnership (40%)
- Partner closely with the Account Executive to develop and execute a winning strategy for complex enterprise deals.
- Own the technical sales cycle, including responding to RFPs/RFIs, addressing security and technical questionnaires, and mitigating competitive threats.
- Articulate complex AI concepts (e.g., model training, data pipelines, MLOps, LLM fine-tuning) in a clear, accessible, and business-relevant manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key technical and operational stakeholders in client organizations.
Product & Market Expertise (20%)
- Serve as the voice of the customer, providing critical feedback to our Product and Engineering teams to inform the product roadmap.
- Maintain a deep, hands-on understanding of our AI platform, its APIs, and its underlying architecture.
- Stay abreast of the competitive landscape and emerging trends in the AI/ML market.
Qualification and expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in a Sales/Solutions Engineer, Customer-Facing Data Scientist, or Technical Product Manager role, preferably in a B2B SaaS or AI/ML company.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML concepts, data science workflows, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proven ability to design and deliver compelling POCs and technical demonstrations.
- Excellent presentation, whiteboarding, and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30% for client meetings and industry events.
- A Hybrid Thinker: You are fluent in both the language of business (ROI, TCO, KPIs) and the language of technology (APIs, models, data infrastructure).
- A Problem-Solver: You are naturally curious and excel at diagnosing complex business problems before jumping to a solution.
- An Influencer: You have the presence and communication skills to build credibility with senior executives and the patience to guide technical practitioners.
- A Hands-On Builder: You are comfortable in a demo environment, writing simple scripts, and building custom scenarios to prove a point.
Highly Desired:
- Direct experience with our specific AI domain (e.g., experience with LangChain for an LLM company, or TensorFlow/PyTorch for a computer vision company).
- Understanding of MLOps principles and the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle.
- Programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, SQL) to manipulate data and interact with APIs for demos.
- A portfolio of past POCs, demo videos, or technical blog posts is a significant advantage.
