Building on TEAM’s established expertise in marketing UEFA’s Men’s Club Competitions, the Business Development team is now leading the way in developing new commercial opportunities for the TEAM group of companies and targeting prospective partners in sport.
The programme
The role
As a Sponsorship Sales Manager within the Business Development team, you will focus on onboarding new commercial partners across the EMEA region for our client, Riot Games, one of the leading IPs in gaming and esports.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Building marketplace knowledge by gathering client-specific industry data and staying up to date on emerging trends, brands active in the sports and esports sponsorship landscape and evolving consumer habits and preferences.
- Identifying relevant categories and prospects, defining property- and brand-specific narratives to initiate new brand conversations in the marketplace with the aim of onboarding them as new partners.
- Compiling comprehensive background analyses of prospective sponsors and their industry sectors.
- Defining a go-to-market strategy for the represented properties.
- In close collaboration with Riot Games, managing and monitoring the commercial inventory across the multiple sponsorship packages available to the market.
- Creating market-leading sales materials tailored to target brands, including information gathering, defining key sales messages and structuring presentation decks.
- Taking the lead or providing support in scheduling and running meetings with target brands or agencies.
- Maintaining an accurate pipeline and providing efficient reporting to Riot Games.
The candidate
You have experience working in sponsorship sales across esports, sports and/or the entertainment industry, with in-depth knowledge of the wider gaming ecosystem, major players, competitors and market trends. You are confident selling, negotiating and building trusted relationships at all levels – both internally and externally with clients or target brands. It’s important that you have a broad understanding of analytical tools and frameworks with the ability to connect the dots and add meaningful insight. Likewise, you are able to combine strategic thinking with creative storytelling, allowing you to make genuine connections between the properties and the brands. Your extensive commercial knowledge enables you to influence decision-making and your strong industry network aids you in developing new business opportunities. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or a similar design software would be an advantage.

The position will be based at TEAM’s office in London, UK and will involve some international travel.
